Prayer Request

I ask for you all to pray for three young men who will be commencing their seminary life and formation in some time soon. Let us pray that they will receive a truly Catholic formation, with a strong emphasis on the Sacred Liturgy and theology. Our Church is in urgent need of faithful, intellectually capable and holy priests to perpetuate the Incarnation and bring the redemption wrought by our Redeemer's Precious Blood to their flock.

Their names are:

Mark Miles
Christian de Lisle
Gary Dench.

Please offer daily prayers for them and all other Catholic seminarians that they may be conformed to the likeness of Christ, our High Priest.

New Member of the Body

This Sunday after the offering of the Holy Sacrifice, we had the joy of a new baby being baptised into the Catholic Church. For us in our community it was a great source of joy, especially for Father. Undergoing this laver of regeneration, the child is now sanctified, adopted as a child of God, made a temple of the Holy Spirit and a partaker of the Divine Nature. It is humbling to realise that this young boy was made the holiest person in church that day.
I ask you all to pray for him and his parents, that he may advance in holiness and endure faithfully to the end. The vocation to marriage and parenthood is a sublime call, where not only is your own soul at stake, but that of your spouse and your children as well. Through their example, prayers and guidance, the child is prepared not for employment or schooling, but must be equipped for heaven. To fail in such a duty is a grievous sin, yet the Lord never abandons us and His grace is always present for fallen men. Let us pray that the child will not stain his baptismal garment and will become a channel of grace for the rest of the community in which he resides.

Holy Virgin, intercede for the parents that they may raise up a saint in their midst by the constant grace of our Lord Christ.

I've Returned

This morning I arrived back in Scotland, to the obvious absence of heat. But, it is a joy to get back to writing for Filioque and I hope to add some work of quality over the next few weeks.

I ask you also to pray for a friend of mine as her father has recently died and his funeral occurred on Thursday. Please pray for the repose of his soul and for the family so that they may trust in the loving kindness of our Father.

Penance Required

In view of the planned Channel 4 abortion (slaughter of innocents) advertisement, I propose that we gave up some time this weekend to beseech God through penance that this does not happen. It is a hideous attack on human life and on God's gift. Also, may we meditate on the truth that the Lord has given us life so that we glorify Him.

Constantly approach our Loving Mother to intercede for us before her Divine Son.
Receive Holy Communion (with confession beforehand) for this intention.
Say 5 Decades of the Rosary.
Fast. etc or whatever you believe will help.

In times like these of unbelief and evil, one can despair or one can with the grace of the Spirit Who intercedes in us, grow in great sanctity and trust in God.

Holy Mary, Mother of God and lover of life, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
