Fra' Fredrik Crichton-Stuart

MEMORY ETERNAL.

I was saddened yesterday to read of the death of Fra' Freddy who passed away on Tuesday in Edinburgh. From what I knew of him, he was a humble servant of the Church who fought for the preservation of the Traditional expressions of the Roman Catholic Faith. When I have been serving Mass when he attended, it was obvious that he had a simple joy at being there to worship. It was only through reading reports of his death that I came to realise how much he had done for the sake of the Church, and I am certain that he will be missed. However, at the moment he needs our prayers and offerings for the repose of his soul, so I ask you to offer something for him please.

Where did I leave off.....

The Lord in His abundant goodness (which is His essentially, and not by participation) decreed long holidays from university so that time could be spent profitably blogging. I have not written on here since the beginning of the year as I have not had sufficient time to write anything truly worthwhile.

Plans for this week:

1) Reflections on the Ascension of our Lord and Pentecost.
2) Further discussion on a particular teaching of the Faith Movement.

Commentary on Romans

I have started work on the commentary on the Divine Apostle's Epistle to the Romans and I hope to have the first chapter uploaded in a few days. I have decided to write it up in the form of 'homilies' for each chapter so that at certain points I may enter into greater detail.

Pax Vobis.

Plans For Next Writings

If the Good Lord grants me the time and ability, I wish to undertake certain writings for Filioque:

1) Consider, under the guidance of the Angelic Doctor, the state of our first parents before the Fall in order to assess the glory that has come about since the Incarnation and the subsequent (in principle) exaltation of man.
2) Write a commentary on the Letter to the Romans, which so influenced my holy patron, Augustine before and after his conversion to the true Faith.
3) Respond to certain beliefs, concepts and overall cosmic view of the Faith movement.

However, most importantly I ask that you pray for our Holy Father that his visit to Scotland may be fruitful in bringing about a greater devotion to our Lord Christ in His Catholic Church, and that the Roman Pontiff, the Vicar of Christ will be protected by His mercy from all harm.

I've Returned

This morning I arrived back in Scotland, to the obvious absence of heat. But, it is a joy to get back to writing for Filioque and I hope to add some work of quality over the next few weeks.

I ask you also to pray for a friend of mine as her father has recently died and his funeral occurred on Thursday. Please pray for the repose of his soul and for the family so that they may trust in the loving kindness of our Father.

On Holiday

Off on holiday today to the land of Santa Claus - Turkey.

I will write up some more meditations when (and if) I return. May God be with you all and may the Holy Theotokos intercede for you!

Pax Vobis.

Laptop 'Issues' - Some thoughts for Reflection

On Sunday, of the Holy Trinity, I had planned to write up some meditations on this site, but alas, my laptop charger wished to stall my eager nature and my willing typing. In a sense, this interruption may block my writing something rash about the sublime mystery that is the Sacred Triad. I had a number of ideas to write on concerning the Godhead, yet I believe it would be expedient if I were to take another few days of reflection in case I write something contrary to the Faith out of lack of reverence because of my hasty manner.

I am internally debating whether to write about:

1) The Persons addressed in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and their 'function' in the liturgy.
2) The relevance of the Trinity for the average laymen.
3) How the 'Paschal Mystery' reveals the immanent Divine life.
4) or...why I shouldn't dare to write on such a profound truth that my weak, polluted intellect can never hope to grasp without falling into innumberable sins.
